David
J. Anschel, MD, an expert in clinical neurophysiology, the treatment
of epilepsy and other neurological disorders, is the Director of
Clinical Neurophysiology and the Comprehensive Epilepsy Center at
St. Charles.
Previously, Dr. Anschel held the position of co-director of the
Long Island Comprehensive Epilepsy Center and director of Intraoperative
Neurophysiology at Stony Brook University Hospital. He is board
certified in neurology and clinical neurophysiology and is a guest
scientist at Brookhaven National Laboratory.
Dr. Anschel graduated Summa Cum Laude from SUNY Buffalo in 1993
and earned a Medical Doctorate from New York University in 1998.
He completed his neurology residency at Harvard University-Beth
Israel Deaconess Medical Center/Boston Children’s Hospital
followed by a fellowship in epilepsy and clinical neurophysiology
at Stanford University.
A prolific author, Dr. Anschel has published over 50 scientific
papers, abstracts and book chapters as well as authoring 2 books
widely used by medical students and residents in neurology training.
